FAQs

Explore our Botox FAQs for in-depth insights into the procedure, safety, and results. We address common questions to ensure you’re well-informed and confident in your journey to rejuvenation with The Fix Clinic.

What is Botox?

Botox is an FDA-approved neuromodulator, expertly used at Fix Clinic to treat and prevent wrinkles. It limits muscle movement, reducing dynamic lines and wrinkles for a safe, minimally invasive, and instantly rejuvenated appearance. Many clients at Fix Clinic have found great satisfaction in the results of their botox treatments, with some even reporting a more youthful and refreshed look after just one session. Our team of trained professionals takes great care in administering botox to ensure a natural and symmetrical outcome. Whether it’s for smoothing out forehead lines or eliminating crow’s feet, botox has proven to be a reliable and popular choice for those seeking a more youthful appearance.

Treatment for Botox at The Fix Clinic is assessed, prescribed, and placed by extensively trained, highly skilled Board Certified Nurse Practitioners only.

You will be asked to make faces or “animate” to show where the muscle movement is. These areas will then be injected with a very small needle. You will feel little to no discomfort from the injections, most people are surprised by how quick and easy it is! Right after the treatment, you may have a few, very small raised areas where the Botox was injected, these will resolve in about 15-30 minutes. Small bruises do occasionally occur. Our skilled Nurse Practitioners utilize the gentleest and the safest practices when placing Botox.

The aesthetic for injectables at The Fix Clinic is one in which we utilize injectables to enhance natural features, but maintain facial balance. Thus, we do not inject with the goal of overtreating any area. Our Nurse Practitioners strive to maintain a subtle, beautiful rejuvenation with Botox. Furthermore, we follow FDA approved dosing for Botox and take into consideration your preference for more or less movement post-treatment.

The most commonly reported side effects of Botox are injection site redness or bruising. Both of these are due to the needle pokes and are usually very small and heal extremely quickly. Some people experience a headache after Botox, which is effectively treated with an over-the-counter pain reliever.

Botox is generally considered safe when administered by a qualified healthcare professional. It has been FDA-approved for both medical and cosmetic uses, such as reducing wrinkles, treating chronic migraines, excessive sweating, and muscle disorders. However, like any medical procedure, it carries some risks and side effects, including:

  1. Mild Side Effects: Temporary bruising, swelling, or pain at the injection site.
  2. More Serious Side Effects: Headaches, flu-like symptoms, drooping eyelids, or uneven facial appearance.
  3. Rare but Serious Risks: Allergic reactions or difficulty breathing if the Botox spreads beyond the treated area.

It’s important to have a thorough consultation with a certified provider to discuss potential risks based on your medical history.

You can stop getting Botox at any time and you will regain the muscle movement that causes wrinkles to form. If you have been getting Botox for many years and decide to stop, you may notice changes because your skin has still been aging during the time you were receiving treatments.

At The Fix Clinic, we can also use Botox to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) and chronic migraines. Off-label, it can be used for TMJ/bruxism, trapezius spasm/pain, lower face jowling, and much more.

The endpoint in Botox treatment is that your wrinkles will look smoother at rest, not that your face will be frozen for a particular length of time. Adequate, FDA approved dosing of Botox allows skin to appear more refreshed and smooth for an average of 3-4 months. Different people will have various Botox duration depending on gender, age, muscle mass, dose given, activity level, and frequency of treatments.

It is recommended that you do not rub the areas which were treated or lie down for 4 hours post-treatment. Exercise may be resumed after 24 hours post-treatment. Same-day or next day flights do not need to be restricted after your Botox treatment.
